The New Jersey 9/11 Memorial Foundation, Inc. was formed for the charitable purpose of raising funds for the erection of a public monument that will be owned and operated by the State of New Jersey for public purposes.The Foundation Board consists of Family Members who lost a loved one during the attacks and serve as all volunteers. Every dollar raised goes directly to the cause with no adminstrative fees. 

Specifically, The New Jersey 9/11 Memorial Foundation, Inc. will raise funds from individuals and businesses in the geographic area of New Jersey and New York to make grants and distributions to (i) construct “Empty Sky”, a memorial dedicated to New Jersey residents who were killed during the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and on Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, which is to be owned and operated by the State of New Jersey on land that the state owns; (ii) conduct programs or other events related to the memorial; and (iii) create a fund which will be used by the State of New Jersey for the maintenance of the memorial and the surrounding grounds.
